THE DANISH MINISTRY OF DEFENCE SIGNS BILATERAL AGREEMENT WITH THE BOSNIAN MILITARY

The program's main elements are:

• Support for PSOTC (Peace Support Operations Training Center)'s operating budget (130.000 Euros). The center facilitates continuing education and training of selected Bosnian officers by international standards.
• Support for the creation of a Defence College (60.000 Euros).
• Support for explosive ordnance disposal (50.000 Euros). Bosnia-Herzegovina still after the war in the 1990’s has considerable stockpiles of old unexploded and obsolete munitions to be destroyed.
• Support for the rehabilitation of redundant soldiers (50.000 Euros).

In addition for the first time a 'contingency-fund' will be established, which can be used by the Bosnian Ministry of Defence to participate in regional training courses. Hereby the Bosnians have the opportunity to 'repay' a regional participation in a PSOTC course. The fund is 13.500 Euros.

Additional Denmark is still supporting the Bosnian staff officer's contribution to the Danish Battle Group in Afghanistan, as well as a variety of educational activities, all of which are related to the 'Partnership Goals' Bosnia and Herzegovina have agreed with NATO.
