Forms
In order to apply for a private individual visa the applicant has to provide the Embassy with the following:
1. one (1) application form (available at the Embassy) filled in English language only and with capital letters; the form has to be signed as in the passport;no corrections allowed in the application form;
2. one (1) supplementary form (available at the Embassy) filled in English language only and with capital letters; the form has to be signed as in the passport;
3. I.D. card
4. one (1) recent passport photo (light background), 3,5 x 4,5 cm
5. Invitation letter from the reference which needs to be signed, stating the following:
- information about the reference (full address, tel. number, relationship with applicant)- information about the applicant- period of stay and special occasion (if any)- who is covering costs of stayCopy of Danish passport or residence permit card needs to be attached to the invitation letter6. passport valid for a minimum of three (3) months beyond visa expiry date; 7. 70,00KM fee (except for below categories)8. For employed: Certificate of employment, certificate on use of annual leave from work, M2 form, working book;For university students: Certificate from faculty and student’s book;For primary and high school students: certificate from school Children less than 18 years old travelling without one or both parents, need to have authorisation from one or both parents, proof of guardianship (divorce decree) with the court authorisation from the guardian.For pensioners: Last pension receiptFor medical treatment in Denmark: Certificate from hospital on medical exam appointment, or a surgeny9. any document the applicant considers to be useful (housing contract, certificate on ownership of real estate…)

11. Birth certificate
12. Marriage certificate (only in case of visit to spouse living in Denmark)
13. In case visa is approved, return ticket and health insurance in the amount of min. 30 000 Euro required. Possible insurance companies: Raiffeisen, Croatia, Bosna, Sunce, Triglav, Sarajevo, etc.
Working time for submitting applications is every working day except Wednesdays from 10.00 to 12.00. Approved visas will be processed only Wednesdays when the applicant should bring passport, return ticket and travel health insurance at 10.00 hrs and will get pick up the visa the same day at 16.00 hrs.
Decision:The Embassy needs 7-10 working days to process the application. After that the applicant can approach the Embassy to learn whether a positive decision has been made or if the application has been forwarded to the Danish Immigration Service for further consideration. The Danish Immigration Service's estimate of their handling time can be found on this website. Applicants are consequently advised to apply well in advance to make sure that there is sufficient time to handle the application.
The applicant has to submit the application in person.
